Weathering the Storm: How Climate Change is Reshaping Filipino Lives

Climate change is no longer a little problem is a daily threat for millions of Filipinos. From strong typhoons and rising sea levels, the environment is changing in ways that directly affect many people and animals, economy, and public health. One of the main reasons for these changes is the increase in global warming, greenhouse gas emissions, smoke coming out from factories, deforestation, and the continuous burning of fossil fuels. These activities trap heat in the Earth’s atmosphere, causing global temperatures to rise.

The Philippines is vulnerable due to its geographic location in the Pacific Ring of Fire. This results in frequent natural disasters, including earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, typhoons, and floods. Urban areas suffer from poor drainage systems, while other communities often lack in the structure of houses to withstand such disasters .

Despite these  challenges, Filipinos continue to show remarkable resiliency. People help each other during challenging events, many people find away to help each other people before helping themselves, that is the amazing personality of Filipinos.
